A vintage Hermès silk carré featuring Les Oiseaux des Champs et des Bois, designed by Hugo Grygkar and first issued in 1953.

One of Grygkar’s beautifully illustrative designs for the house, the scarf depicts individual species of field and woodland birds arranged across a pale ground. The composition has the quality of a natural-history study, with each bird rendered in intricate detail.

Finished with the Hermès Paris signature and hand-rolled edges.
