Edwardian Tortoiseshell Hand Mirror
An Edwardian hand mirror in richly figured tortoiseshell with a bevelled mirror plate. The elongated handle and faceted mirror create a clear, balanced form.
The shell has been shaped, polished and set around the mirror, allowing the natural mottling to frame the reflective surface. The bevelled glass adds depth without ornament.
Originally a functional vanity object, now equally strong as a decorative piece — held by material, surface and proportion.
Very good antique condition. Light age-related wear to shell and mirror plate.
Natural tortoiseshell; bevelled glass; England; circa 1905–1915.
